What are micro-credentials?

Albertus eXcelerator provides micro-credentials endorsed by industry-leading corporations such as Goodwill, Google, IBM, Intuit, Meta, Salesforce, SAP, and Tally. The number of courses required to earn a certificate varies, with some requiring only three courses while others may require up to fourteen courses.

What are the benefits of micro-credentials at Albertus?

Our partnership with Coursera offers industry-recognized credentials that are highly sought-after in your career. A micro-credential is a valuable tool for staying competitive in today's job market. You'll gain specialized knowledge and skills directly applicable to your industry by earning a micro-credential. Micro-credentials can help you stand out to employers and demonstrate your commitment to professional growth. In addition, micro-credentials allow you to upskill and achieve your career goals quickly.

What is the price for each certificate?

  • Our courses are free to current full-time students, faculty, and staff of Albertus Magnus College.
  • For external marketplace students and alums, prices range from $199 to $299 per course.

I'm an Albertus Magnus College Alumni. Do I get a discount?

Yes, Alumni are eligible for a 15% discount. If you're interested in taking micro-credential courses, please contact the Alumni Office at alumni@albertus.edu for further information.

Once I purchase, when will I have access to the courses?

Your login information will be sent to you via email within two business days. Please check your spam folder if you do not get the email with login details within two days. The email will come from Coursera and contain a link to the program to log in.

How do refunds work?

We offer a refund policy for purchases made within seven days of enrollment. If you want to request a refund for any reason within seven days of enrolling, please fill out our refund form.

What is the typical length of an Albertus Magnus College micro-credential program?

The specific length of each program varies, ranging from 16 weeks to 56 weeks.

How long do I have access?

You'll have up to one year to complete your coursework if you are not an Albertus student.

If you are a full-time student at Albertus, you can access coursework for the duration of your full-time attendance.

When I finish, how do I use my credentials/badge?

You can use your micro-credential badge from Coursera, which you will get upon completion of the course, to showcase your achievements on your LinkedIn profile. Adding your badge to your profile highlights your newly acquired skills and opens new job opportunities.

Can I receive credit at Albertus for any of these courses?

Albertus Magnus College follows the credit for prior learning policy for micro-credentials (section: non-collegiate coursework and program). https://catalog.albertus.edu/undergraduate/admissions/credit-for-prior-learning.php

We may award up to 15 credits (for new, non-matriculated students) for completed Coursera certificates that have an ACE recommendation. Credits may vary, please reach out to registrar@albertus.edu for more information on credit for prior learning. As of 5/1/2023 these are the courses that have an ACE recommendation:

I am a current student. Do I have access to the micro-credential courses I purchased after I graduate?

As a full-time student, you can complete any courses you began during your senior year. For graduates who wish to take additional courses, a fee will apply.
