“The Class of 2028 continues the College’s strong distinction as the most racially and ethnically diverse Catholic College in New England,” said Vice President for Enrollment Management Brian Fernandes. “Admission was competitive with about nearly 4,000applications for the first-year and transfer seats – a 50% increase over last year. These new students will add to an already vibrant and engaging student life community, especially with the addition of our new nursing students.”
Approximately 85% of this class is coming from Connecticut, about 6% are international students representing Canada, Germany, Dominican Republic, Vietnam, Russia, Nigeria, Brazil, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan; and several of the newest Fearless Falcons hail from New York and New Jersey and even as far away as Hawaii and Nevada. The class includes high achievers, with roughly 23% having earned invitations to the College’s Honors Program. Of the incoming class, more than 50% are receiving Federal Pell Grants and over 50% are first generation students. Almost 40% will participate in NCAA Division III athletic programs. Albertus Magnus College’s continued commitment to access and inclusion is reflected in the class consisting of approximately 60% of students of color.
Move-in will be followed by a robust schedule of Welcome Weekend events and activities. Classes for traditional undergraduates begin August 26. For more information, go to www.albertus.edu.
