Library and Information Technology Services

The division of Library and Information Technology Services delivers training and support for students, faculty, and staff as they navigate the College’s digital environment. Based in the inspiring atmosphere of Rosary Hall, an enthusiastic team of library professionals and information technology specialists dedicated to high standards of information and technical literacy provides numerous services.

Library Services

LIbrary Services trains students in the information literacy and research skills necessary to become lifelong learners. Students are guided to the most appropriate resources for their research needs in the College’s extensive digital collections, online databases, and the traditional print collection. Among the Library’s many e-resources, patrons navigate through more than 57,000 e-journals, magazines and newspapers containing 32 million articles, and an ever-expanding e-book collection that includes more than 200,000 full-text books in all subject areas. Through the Library’s online catalog, Boots OneSearch, students and faculty can access the information resources necessary to support the curriculum, whether they are studying on campus or online.

Information Help Desk Services

Supports students, faculty, and staff in accessing and using Albertus information technology resources.

Instructional Technology Services

Provides training and support for students and faculty in the use of technology in classroom and online environments, including eLearning, ePortfolio, Google Apps for Education, the Microsoft Office suite, and related resources.

Technical Services

Manages and maintains the College's technical infrastructure, including the physical and wireless networks, the data center and application servers, computer workstations and laptops, audio-visual resources, and cyber security solutions.

Internet Communications Services

Manages and maintains the College's technical infrastructure, including the physical and wireless networks, the data center and application servers, computer workstations and laptops, audio-visual resources, and cyber security solutions.

Administrative Computing Services

Provides support services and programming of the College's enterprise resource applications.

Institutional Research and Assessment

Institutional Research and Assessment supports the College community through data collection, reporting, and analysis, with an emphasis on providing strategic analytical support in shaping the long-term institutional policies and programs.

Library and Information Technology Services (ITS) offices are located in the Rosary Hall Learning Commons.

Computer Policy

Computers are located around campus for student use.

The computers, computing resources, and Internet access in the Academic Computer Labs are the property of Albertus Magnus College. They are provided for use by the students, faculty, and staff of Albertus Magnus College for research, academic, or other authorized college-related purposes.

All computer users are responsible for seeing that the computers are used in an effective, efficient, ethical and lawful manner.

Non-Acceptable Use of Albertus Magnus College Computers:

  • Sending or storing fraudulent, harassing and/or obscene materials.
  • Interfere with or disrupt other users.
  • Distribution of unsolicited advertising, propagation of computer worms and viruses, and/or making unauthorized entry into any other system.
  • Take advantage of security holes to access unauthorized systems or resources.
  • Playing computer games during scheduled class hours.
  • Accessing chat lines/instant messengers during scheduled class hours.
  • Making copies of any copyrighted software.
  • Copying or modifying system files or software components except for specifically approved purposes.
  • Acting or behaving in a loud or offensive manner as to disrupt others trying to work.

Violators of the above policies will be denied future access to the computer labs and may be subject to Academic review.
