Albertus Magnus College VP to be Honored by Quinnipiac and Greater New Haven Chambers
Andrea Kovacs Saluted for Excellence in Business at Annual Women’s Achievement Awards
New Haven, Conn., October 27, 2022 – Albertus Magnus College applauds Andrea Kovacs, vice president for Enrollment Management and Marketing, for
Excellence in Business at the upcoming Annual Women’s Achievement Awards. The tribute
comes from the Quinnipiac and Greater New Haven Chambers of Commerce, honoring the
accomplishments of six exemplary women in the region.
“To be mentioned in the same sentence as these amazing women is an honor in itself,” said Kovacs, a Bridgeport resident who has served Albertus since 2010 and in her current dual capacity for the past three. “Lifting up others – especially women – brings me so much joy. And to do it in the realm of education, which impacts everything we do later in life both professionally and personally, is a passion that I get to pursue every day.”
The other honorees include Lindsay Allard, managing director at Beirne Wealth Consulting Services, LLC; Dawn Leaks, executive director at Collab; Linda Craig, owner/director of client care at Always Best Care Senior Services; Vanessa Moreno, owner of Your CBD Store; and Kelly Fitzgerald, senior director at the United Way of Greater New Haven. Zoe Hunter, the Managing Director of the Tsai Center for Innovative Thinking at Yale, is the Keynote Speaker.
“I am pleased to see Andrea Kovacs’ excellence acknowledged by the local Chambers of Commerce,” said Albertus President, Dr. Marc M. Camille. “Andrea attempts nothing in her life without a full commitment to excellence and passion, and it’s a testament to her leadership and impact beyond the borders of the Albertus campus that she be selected as one of the region’s women excelling in business.”
As Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing, Kovacs provides senior leadership and strategically organizes and produces results on an integrated platform. She oversees undergraduate admissions, Professional and Graduate Studies (PGS) admissions, enrollment operations, financial aid, inter-collegiate athletics, communications and marketing, community engagement, and legislative affairs. Some of her biggest successes have been leading the College’s recruitment efforts in the midst of – and emerging from the pandemic, yielding both the second, third, and fourth largest incoming classes in the history of Albertus. This includes the Centennial Class of 2025 and the Class of 2026, the first class of Albertus’ second century of excellence. Under her leadership, Albertus has continued to diversify its student population significantly and is now a minority-majority institution (almost 58% of all students), and on the verge (at 24%) of becoming a Hispanic Serving Institution (25% Latinx).
Each year, the Quinnipiac and Greater New Haven Chambers of Commerce celebrate the achievements of influential and distinguished women. This year’s celebration will take place at Noon on November 9 at The Farms Country Club, 180 Cheshire Road in Wallingford.
