Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce Honors Albertus Magnus College During Centennial Year with Corporate Heritage Award
New England’s First Catholic Residential Liberal Arts College for Women Celebrates a Century of Values-Based Education and Innovation, Moves Boldly into its Second Century
New Haven, Conn., March 27, 2026 –Albertus Magnus College is proud to announce it has been named the recipient of the 2026 Corporate Heritage Award by the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce. The award was presented during the Chamber’s 232nd Annual Meeting and Business Leadership Awards on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at the Omni New Haven Hotel.
The Corporate Heritage Award recognizes distinguished businesses and institutions that have successfully operated and contributed to the regional community for over 100 years. Founded in 1925 by the Dominican Sisters as New England’s first Catholic residential liberal arts college for women, Albertus Magnus College is currently celebrating its 100th Anniversary. Today, as a fully coeducational institution, the College remains a cornerstone of the Greater New Haven region, dedicated to providing its excellent, values-based education to approximately 1,300 traditional and adult learners.

Albertus Magnus College continues to be a leader in workforce development and educational innovation. The College recently introduced a new Bachelor’s program in Nursing and Connecticut’s first LPN-to-BSN program to address the state's urgent need for healthcare professionals. Furthermore, in fall 2026, Albertus will become the first college in New England to implement cutting-edge virtual reality technology through a partnership with Dreamscape Learn, offering students immersive experiential learning opportunities.
With a consistent track record of success, 95% of Albertus graduates secure employment or enter graduate studies within six months of completion.
