Women’s History Month at Albertus Magnus College: Conversations of Faith, Life, and Justice

Meister Eckhart Center and Black Excellence 365 Present Two Events

New Haven, Conn., March 15, 2023 Albertus Magnus College highlights two events in March, Women’s History Month, as part of its Aquinas Lecture Series:  Conversations of Faith, Life, and Justice.  These discussions are presented by the Meister Eckhart Center and Black Excellence 365 to promote inclusion, self-reflection, and a greater sense of belonging.

What:  Preaching Through Beauty: The Art of Sr. Thoma Swanson, O.P.

This panel of Albertus community members will explore the art of Sr. Thoma Swanson, O.P., who served as a member and Chair of Albertus’ Art Department for many years, and whose art explores themes ranging from Dominican history, the life of faith, social justice, and the natural world.

When: Thursday, March 23 from 5:30-6:45 pm.

AND

What: Servant of God; Sr. Thea Bowman’s Journey to Sainthood.

Continuing our Saints Among Us series, this documentary will explore the riveting life of Servant of God Sr. Thea Bowman, a Black Franciscan Sister who used her gifts to educate and challenge the church and society to grow in racial inclusivity.

When: Thursday, March 30 from 5:30-7:30 pm.
