Albertus Magnus College Holds 5th Annual Service Day
Living-up to the Dominican Pillar of Service to Others
New Haven, Conn., April 10, 2023 – The Four Dominican Pillars of Study, Prayer, Community, and Service are lived each day at Albertus Magnus College, a Catholic College in the Dominican Tradition. In dedication to service to others, the Albertus Community is volunteering on its Fifth Annual Service Day – entitled Albertus Serves – as a way to give back to the New Haven community by helping others grow and prosper.

Where: Meet in the Atrium of the Tagliatela Academic Center; various community sites
When: Thursday, April 13 (rain date is Friday, April 14)
8:30 a.m. for check-in and blessing;
9:00 a.m. disperse to locations;
12:00 p.m. lunch and reflection
This year’s event will be held on Thursday, April 13 with a rain date of Friday, April 14. It is a commitment to our environmental stewardship and giving back to our community at large.
T-shirts will be provided but volunteers are reminded to please wear closed-toe shoes and bring bottled water. Participants then go to their site placements which include: the Albertus Community Garden; Spring Learning Center; St. Martin de Porres Church; Albertus Grounds and 490 Prospect Street; St. Stanislaus Church; There’s No Place Like Home Inc.; Edgerton Park; East Rock Park and the New Haven Botanical Garden of Healing Dedicated to Victims of Gun Violence.
