New Haven, Conn., April 27, 2023 – In the tradition of servant leadership, Albertus Magnus College is pleased to announce that Dr. Jonathan Adongo will represent the College on the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of Southern New England.  Junior Achievement is the world’s largest non-profit economic education organization, with programs taught by classroom volunteers in more than 123 countries.  In recognition of its impact, JA has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2022 and 2023.

“Albertus students contribute to this impact by volunteering to teach financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and life skills in New Haven, Conn., schools during JA Day events,” shared Dr. Adongo.   “Albertus proudly supports JA, as its goals closely align with our mission for educational access, and I look forward to carrying on that tradition.”

Dr. Adongo replaces Dr. Howard Fero, who represented Albertus on the JASNE Board until recently and continues to represent the College on the Board of Homes for the Brave, supporting Albertus’ Veteran outreach.

An associate professor of Economics, Dr. Adongo joined Albertus in 2021 as part of the Tagliatela School of Business and Leadership.  Previously, he held a similar position at the Missouri Southern State University.  Dr. Adongo earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Middle Tennessee State University and both his master’s and bachelor’s degrees from the University of Botswana in Gaborone, Botswana.  He enjoys training students on evidence-based approaches to evaluate events using analytical and data-driven tools.

Dr. Adongo’s first event as a new board member is at the Partners in Achievement breakfast on May 3 at the Hartford Marriott Downtown.
