Albertus Magnus College’s 4th Annual Golf Classic is a Success

Event Benefits Student Scholarships

New Haven, Conn., July 21, 2022 – Rain fell but plenty of dollars were raised as Albertus Magnus College held its Fourth Annual Golf Classic on July 18, 2022 at the iconic New Haven Country Club in Hamden, Connecticut. The outing attracted  88 players representing Albertus alumni, benefactors, and businesses throughout the state. This event garnered $50,000 towards essential scholarships for students. Since its inception, this tournament has raised more than $250,000 in support  of scholarships that transform and empower lives through education.  

“We are so grateful to the businesses, individuals, and volunteers who support this important event year after year,” said  Albertus Vice President for Advancement Mary Young ’91. “These funds are essential to make our students career-ready  when they graduate and immediately make valuable contributions to their community.” 

For the past six consecutive years, Albertus graduates outpaced the national average when it comes to finding jobs or  continuing their education within six months after earning their bachelor’s degree. The graduating Class of 2021 alumni  achieved a 97-percent success rate versus the most recent 82-percent national comparison rate, according to the National  Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Destination Survey results. Each of the College’s last six graduating classes  have achieved at least a 95-percent success rate in the important early career success and return on investment metric.

About Albertus Magnus College: Albertus Magnus College, founded in 1925, is a Catholic College in the Dominican tradition. It is recognized by external rankings such as US News & World Report Best Colleges, Money Magazine, and the Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education.
