Albertus Magnus College Partners With Local Chambers to Provide Scholarships

Designed to Help Those Negatively Impacted by COVID-19

Albertus Magnus College, in partnership with the Greater New Haven, Hamden, and Quinnipiac Chambers of Commerce, is pleased to announce the Albertus Chamber Partners Scholarship – an opportunity to assist chamber members who have recently experienced economic hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This global pandemic has created a time of uncertainty – both health concerns and the long-term impact on our economy.  As a community, we must commit to emerging from this crisis stronger and better prepared to adapt and succeed,” said Andrea Kovacs, vice president for Enrollment Management and Marketing.  “In developing degree programs, we have always asked the business community, ‘what skillsets does your workforce need?’ Now are saying, ‘how can we help your business emerge stronger from this crisis?’ That’s why we created the Albertus Chamber Partners Scholarship Program.”

This limited scholarship is offered to new, non-matriculated students who can demonstrate financial hardship as a direct result of the Coronavirus pandemic, and who are affiliated with one of the chamber partners.  The scholarship will cover the tuition of one online course for qualified candidates to be taken during Module 5, which runs from May 26 to July 18, 2020.  Candidates may select from more than 80 undergraduate courses or eight graduate courses.  If a student decides to enroll at Albertus within one year, they will be offered a 10-percent discount.

For more information on available courses, please go to the Albertus Magnus College website or apply for admission

This scholarship is one of several steps taken by Albertus in response to the pandemic.  Prior to this, Albertus announced a reduction in room deposit rates, a Virtual Accepted Student Day for incoming Fearless Falcons, and a Calling Campaign of Caring – check-in calls to the College’s 1500 students.
