New Vice President for Advancement Named at Albertus Magnus College
Growth Mindset at Forefront as College’s 100th Anniversary Approaches
Albertus Magnus College is pleased to announce alumna Mary P. Young ‘91 will be returning to her alma mater as the new Vice President for Advancement beginning October 28. The valedictorian of her class at Albertus, as Vice President for Advancement, Young will be one of the most visible and influential administrators at the College, engaging Albertus alumni and friends in growing philanthropy to support the College’s Growth Mindset and its emerging strategic plan priorities.
Young returns home to Albertus after an eight year tenure as the Chief Executive Officer of the American Red Cross – Metro New York North Chapter, serving Greenwich, Westchester, and the Lower Hudson Valley. There, she raised $3M - $7M each year, all while leading a staff of 15 and more than 200 volunteers. Prior to her leadership role with the Red Cross, Young served as Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Connecticut’s Sacred Heart University, where she planned, implemented, and successfully completed the University’s first Capital Campaign during the University’s dramatic growth years.
“It is a dream come true to return to my roots,” said Young. “As Albertus approaches its 100th anniversary in 2025, this is an exciting time to share with alumni and friends stories of Albertus impact and its steadfast commitment to fulfilling its distinctive mission for more than nine decades. In no small part, much of what the College has accomplished, and will accomplish in the future, is a testament to its alumni and supporters and to its history of elevating the college and life dreams of its students.”
“I am excited to have Mary rejoin the Albertus Magnus community, which helped launch her career in preparation for this moment where she will answer the call of her alma mater,” said President Marc M. Camille, Ed.D. “As an alumna, Mary is uniquely positioned to tell the story of Albertus impact, and her record of leadership and philanthropic success will serve as inspiration to current and future Albertus students. Mary is a testament to the life-elevating power of an Albertus Mag- nus College degree, and I look forward to partnering with her and her advancement colleagues in raising resources to en- able the fulfillment of the College’s Catholic, Dominican mission and bold vision.”
