Albertus Magnus College Launches 100th Anniversary Year by Welcoming Largest Incoming Class in its History

Class of 2029 Moves-in August 22; Prepared to Lead Second Century of Excellence

New Haven, Conn., August 20, 2025 – 100-years-old never looked so new. Or so big. The 2025-2026 academic year at Albertus Magnus College makes a double mark on history:  celebrating its Centennial Anniversary and enrolling the largest incoming class in its first one hundred years. Founded in 1925 by the Dominican Sisters of Peace, Albertus has consistently embraced a pioneer spirit of innovation — in its founding year as the first residential Catholic college for women in New England; as an early mover in adult education in the 1970s; and today as New England's most diverse Catholic college, with record-breaking enrollments. This fall's incoming class is booming at more than 300 students, which also will spur traditional undergraduate enrollment to a new record total.

Albertus President, Marc M. Camille, Ed.D., remarked, "What a fantastic way to launch the historic 100th Anniversary Year for Albertus Magnus College, by welcoming the largest incoming class in the College's history. There is a palpable sense of excitement within the Albertus community -- record admissions and enrollments; Centennial branding across campus; new facilities; transformative gifts; talented new faculty and staff starting – I can't wait to get this new academic year started!"

Who is the Albertus Class of 2029?

Remaining committed to Connecticut's education needs, approximately 75% of this record class comes from the College's home state and many students choosing Albertus from neighboring Massachusetts, New Jersey, and New York.  The Class also includes students traveling from afar, in the US from California, Florida, and Puerto Rico and internationally too, with 5% representing Canada, Colombia, Estonia, Lithuania, Mexico, the Netherlands, and Pakistan.  Nearly half of new students will participate in one or more of Albertus Falcon's NCAA Division III athletics teams. Reflecting the Albertus commitment to education access and affordability, more than 50% of new students are receiving Federal Pell Grants and a similar percentage are first generation college students.

Move-in will be followed by a robust schedule of Welcome Weekend events and activities. Classes for traditional undergraduates begin August 25. For more information, go to www.albertus.edu.
