Albertus Magnus College, Junior Achievement of Southwest New England Sign Dual Credit Agreement
Albertus is First New Haven-area College to Sign-on to Pathway to Higher Education
New Haven, Conn., December 16, 2024 – Albertus Magnus College is pleased to announce a new dual credit educational partnership with Junior Achievement
(JA) of Southwest New England. This opportunity paves the way for qualified Connecticut
high school students to take selected classes at their schools and earn academic credit
at Albertus Magnus College — the first New Haven-area college to sign this agreement
with JA.
The agreement provides participating students the opportunity to take advantage of
introductory college-level learning in subjects like business, economics, finance,
management, and marketing. Dual credit courses help students get a head start on
college by preparing them for the rigors of college courses, the ability to explore
academic interests, and the opportunity to earn college credits.
"JA’s collaboration with Albertus Magnus College reinforces our ongoing mission to
show students in the New Haven community and beyond that higher education is an achievable
goal, not just an aspiration," stated Jeremy Race, President of Junior Achievement.
“As the most diverse Catholic college in New England and the first in the region to
achieve the designation of a Hispanic Serving Institution, Albertus Magnus College
is pleased to join forces with JA and open more doors for high school students to
earn college credits which can reduce overall tuition expenses and accelerate time
to degree completion— especially for First Generation students,” said Vice President
for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty Rosa Rivera-Hainaj, Ph.D.
