Albertus Magnus College Earns Four Telly Awards
Industry-wide Recognition Reflects Consistency in Commitment to Excellence
New Haven, Conn., May 27, 2021 – For the third consecutive year, Albertus Magnus College is pleased to announce that it has won Telly Awards – this time two silver and two
bronze – at the 42nd Annual celebration of this communications industry honor. As
the pandemic continued to impact access to in-person interactions, compelling storytelling
through film, video, and digital media proved both pivotal and vital. Albertus rallied
the expertise of professional staff, student interns, and trusted partners to use
video to tell the Albertus story and to express the Albertus experience for students.
Since the inaugural Telly Awards in 1979, winners have reflected the top tier of standard
bearers of video excellence.
Special appreciation goes out to Director of Creative Services and Marketing, Marisa
Dragone and Director of Admissions, Ben Amarone; student interns Megan Doyle ’21,
Alex Mitchell `21, and Christian Parillo ’22 who solely produced the This is AlbertUS
series, reflecting a day in the life of the Falcon Family; and Mike DeMatteo, principal
of The Establishment, our video and digital content partner.
The honored entries are:
- Albertus Magnus College Campus Tour (Silver); Category: Branded Content Not-For-Profit.
- Albertus Magnus College Commencement 2020 (Silver); Category: Online Web Series,

“This honor demonstrates Albertus’ commitment to excellence and consistency. It also shows how our liberal arts-based foundation incorporates experiential learning and critical thinking as key components of a student’s overall education. Alex and Megan graduated from Albertus prepared to take-on the challenges of their chosen career – and be successful in that field and in life. That is the value of an Albertus education,” said Albertus Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing, Andrea Kovacs.
Last year, Albertus earned four Telly Awards in three categories – three bronze and one silver – for its Hockey Season opener, Pop-up Storytelling, Alumni Success Stories, and Commencement 2019. The year prior, Albertus was honored at the bronze level for its video presentation of the Silver Horn Scholarship.
