Albertus Magnus College Alumni Continue to Soar After Graduation
Destination Survey Results Reveal Graduates’ Employment Rate Once Again Above National Average
For the fourth consecutive year, Albertus Magnus College graduates outpace the national average when it comes to being employed full-time or furthering their education six months after graduation. Albertus Magnus is pleased to announce that 96-percent of its bachelor’s degree recipients are on the job or studying for their next degree. This compares to 85-percent nationwide, according to the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). For the Classes of 2018, 2017, and 2016, Albertus scored 96, 97, and 96-percent, respectively.
“Our undergraduate bachelor’s degree recipients continue to fare better than their counterparts across the country,” said Patrick Clifford, director of Career and Professional Development at Albertus Magnus. “These results reinforce why Albertus’ values and liberal arts-based education – including experiential opportunities like internships – is an ideal foundation and preparation for success after college.”
There is additional good news: 84-percent of Albertus graduates are working in the field that they majored in. And with Yale-New Haven Health Care, the State of Connecticut, Yale University, and Pratt & Whitney being some of the top employers of Albertus graduates, this shows that Albertus alumni are choosing to stay, live, and work in Connecticut.
To build upon this momentum, Albertus Magnus College will hold its annual Career Fair on Tuesday, March 31 from 11 am to 2 pm in the Cosgrove Marcus Messer Athletic Center, 303 Huntington Street, New Haven. More than 100 employers will attend. The event is open to the public as well as to Albertus students and alumni.
About Albertus Magnus College
Founded in 1925, Albertus is a coeducational Catholic College in the Dominican tradition. Albertus' values- and liberal arts-based education is recognized by external rankings such as US News & World Report, Money, and The New York Times, and has been named a Top 10 Military Friendly School. For ten consecutive years, at least 95% of Albertus graduates have attained employment or gone on to graduate studies within six months of completing their degrees. The College has an enrollment of approximately 1,300 students across its traditional undergraduate, accelerated adult undergraduate, and graduate program levels. Proud to enroll a student body where nearly half of its undergraduate students receive Federal Pell Grants and are first-generation college goers, Albertus is known for its innovative curricular offerings, recently launching new Bachelor's degree programs in Nursing, including BSN and Connecticut's first LPN-to-BSN; General Health Sciences; Interdisciplinary Studies; and Public Health.
Among its graduate offerings is the State of Connecticut's only Master of Arts in Art Therapy and Counseling program, and it is just one of three schools to offer a Master of Science in Human Services. In 2025-26, Albertus is celebrating its historic 100th Anniversary and completing implementation of the Albertus 2025: Lighting the Way to a Second Century strategic plan, with a bold vision to "be a destination liberal arts-based college, distinguished in its interdisciplinary and experiential approach to education, rooted in Dominican values, that prepares students for lifelong civic engagement and success."
