Albertus Magnus College Again Dials-Up Calling Campaign of Caring

Faculty and Staff Make “Check-in” Calls to All of College’s Students

Albertus Magnus College continues to be committed to promoting the health and welfare of its community members, and once again the College’s faculty and staff are conducting a Calling Campaign of Caring to all of the 1,500 students at the Catholic, Dominican college, which is celebrating its 95th Anniversary this year.  Starting October 21, students will receive a “check in” call, as they did last spring when the COVID-19 pandemic forced the remainder of the semester to be conducted entirely on-line.

The Calling Campaign of Caring is exactly what the name suggests – a call from the Albertus Community – faculty and staff volunteers, including Albertus President Dr. Marc M. Camille – extending a compassionate, listening ear and a reassuring message of care.

“An Albertus Magnus College education is strengthened by close mentoring relationships between faculty, staff, and students, and our core values call us to commit to the holistic success and well-being of every student. The dedicated faculty and staff stepping up to volunteer to make these caring phone calls fills me with pride and gratitude.  Simply stated, we want our students to know we care, and we want to be proactive in addressing issues and obstacles they might be facing in these continued challenging times, in their time of need,” said Dr. Camille.

For this fall’s Calling Campaign of Caring, more than 80 faculty and staff have volunteered to make the calls. The Campaign begins with the College’s 575 traditional undergraduates and then will move to its 1,000 adult undergraduate and graduate learners.  Follow-up contacts will be made accordingly.

About Albertus Magnus College

Founded in 1925, Albertus is a coeducational Catholic College in the Dominican tradition. Albertus' values- and liberal arts-based education is recognized by external rankings such as US News & World Report, Money, and The New York Times, and has been named a Top 10 Military Friendly School. For ten consecutive years, at least 95% of Albertus graduates have attained employment or gone on to graduate studies within six months of completing their degrees. The College has an enrollment of approximately 1,300 students across its traditional undergraduate, accelerated adult undergraduate, and graduate program levels. Proud to enroll a student body where nearly half of its undergraduate students receive Federal Pell Grants and are first-generation college goers, Albertus is known for its innovative curricular offerings, recently launching new Bachelor's degree programs in Nursing, including BSN and Connecticut's first LPN-to-BSN; General Health Sciences; Interdisciplinary Studies; and Public Health.

Among its graduate offerings is the State of Connecticut's only Master of Arts in Art Therapy and Counseling program, and it is just one of three schools to offer a Master of Science in Human Services. In 2025-26, Albertus is celebrating its historic 100th Anniversary and completing implementation of the Albertus 2025: Lighting the Way to a Second Century strategic plan, with a bold vision to "be a destination liberal arts-based college, distinguished in its interdisciplinary and experiential approach to education, rooted in Dominican values, that prepares students for lifelong civic engagement and success."
