Accepted Student Day at Albertus Magnus College Goes Virtual

Online Welcome to New Students

Accepted Student Day at Albertus Magnus College will be held Saturday, April 25 from 10 am to 11 am.  However, the 2020 version of the event will be completely done in a virtual setting in response to the State of Connecticut’s Stay Home, Stay Safe order related to the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Despite the uncertainty presented by the worldwide pandemic, there is much to look forward to for students offered a place in the College’s Class of 2024:  selected for admission from an all-time record total of more than 1,500 applications, the incoming members of the Class of 2024 starting this August will do so as Albertus Magnus College celebrates its 95th anniversary year.

The hour-long online event will feature videos and virtual tours in addition to the live and pre-recorded presenters who include Albertus President Dr. Marc M. Camille and representatives from admissions, academics, financial aid, student services and housing, and athletics.  Current Albertus students also will share their stories and experiences.

Following Accepted Student Day, numerous departments across the campus will conduct more in-depth, mini-sessions during the week (April 27 – May 1) where students can make appointments to ask additional questions pertaining to their personal needs.

“We welcome this latest group of Fearless Falcons to the Albertus Family.  We may be physically apart, but our virtual greeting will be no less warm or engaging.  There is so much to look forward to.  Students are coming to us at an historic time in our world but will make history of their own this fall as Albertus marks a major milestone, the College’s 95th anniversary,” said Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing Andrea Kovacs.

“This event is a celebration of the many accomplishments of our accepted students.  While there is no replacement for hosting this event on our beautiful New Haven campus, we plan to make our future Fearless Falcons feel at home in a virtual way,” said Director of Admissions Ben Amarone, Jr.

Among its graduate offerings is the State of Connecticut's only Master of Arts in Art Therapy and Counseling program, and it is just one of three schools to offer a Master of Science in Human Services. In 2025-26, Albertus is celebrating its historic 100th Anniversary and completing implementation of the Albertus 2025: Lighting the Way to a Second Century strategic plan, with a bold vision to "be a destination liberal arts-based college, distinguished in its interdisciplinary and experiential approach to education, rooted in Dominican values, that prepares students for lifelong civic engagement and success."
