Due to the current weather conditions and cleanup operations, Albertus Magnus College will close tomorrow, Tuesday, February 24, 2026. Please see below for essential information regarding classes, dining, campus office operations and parking safety.
Academics - All in-person classes are to be held online or virtually. Students should check eLearning and their Albertus email for specific instructions from their faculty.
Dining Services - The Dining Hall will remain open on Monday and Tuesday with the following adjusted hours:
Brunch 10:30am - 1:00pm; Dinner 5:00pm - 7:00pm
Campus Offices - Offices will work remotely, with only essential personnel reporting to campus.
On-Campus Parking (All Campus Lots) – Please remain parked in the Tiers Lot while crews continue to clear lots. We hope to “tidy” the lots tomorrow morning as the weather warms.
Where to park: Please park under the center solar panels and away from walkways.
Why: This allows crews to push snow away from curbs and onto grassy areas.
Note: Vehicles not moved to the Tiers Lot may be subject to towing at the owner’s expense.
Off-Campus & City-Wide Parking Bans – continue to follow city parking bans. For more details, visit New Haven Snow Information.
Zones A (Downtown) & B (Emergency Routes): No parking on either side of the street.
Zone C (Residential): No parking on the odd side of the street.
Safety First - We ask that you exercise extra caution when traversing campus grounds, as surfaces may be slippery.
If you have any questions regarding these procedures, please contact Public Safety at 203-773-8509.
Please stay safe and monitor official college communications for any further updates.
The undergraduate accounting program at Albertus Magnus College, accredited by the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE), provides students with the essential knowledge and skills to be successful in the accounting profession. Employment opportunities for graduates include, but are not limited to, roles in public accounting, management accounting, corporate accounting, governmental and nonprofit accounting, and bookkeeping. The undergraduate program also meets the education requirements for graduates to sit for the Uniform Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Examination in Connecticut and most jurisdictions (students who plan to sit for the exam in a different jurisdiction should confirm the education requirements with the applicable state board of accountancy).
With an accessible and supportive faculty and the benefits of an intimate class size, accounting students will learn the fundamentals of financial management, budget analysis, auditing, and corporate and nonprofit accounting. Combined with a strong, liberal arts education, a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting from Albertus provides students with valuable knowledge in the profession of accounting, as well as a larger understanding of business ethics, effective communication in the workplace, and the principles of management.
When Bobby Arent '24 entered college, his main focus was baseball. However, he soon learned that baseball alone wouldn't fulfill his lifelong goals, and he went on to pursue a degree in accounting and finance at Albertus Magnus College. His transfer from UConn Avery Point to Albertus allowed him to balance academics and athletics effectively. Bobby’s story highlights the importance of pursuing one's passions while preparing for a successful future, making Albertus Magnus College a special place for academic and personal growth.
"One of the most important people here at Albertus is Professor Alan DelFavero... I've probably taken 10 classes with him, and every class, just the way he teaches, he wants you to succeed."

"The Master of Science in Accounting at Albertus Magnus College is designed to provide students with the rigor they will face in the profession while also meeting the necessary education requirements (150 credits) for the CPA license in most jurisdictions. The environment at Albertus provides students with the support they need to be successful and achieve their goals."

Albertus Magnus College was one of the first colleges and universities in the United States to integrate the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Personal Financial Planning program into its curriculum (AICPA 2017).
