Final Grading Policy

For the Traditional Undergraduate Program, all grades are due to the Registrar by no later than 48 hours after the conclusion of the final examination period. For programs offered in Professional and Graduate Studies, all grades are due to the Registrar by no later than 48 hours after the last scheduled class session for the term. It is strongly encouraged for grades to be submitted prior to the conclusion of the final examination period if no final examinations are being given in the course.

Grades for graduating students preceding commencement should be submitted to the Registrar as soon as possible so that students’ final cumulative grade point averages can be calculated in time for graduation.

Delays in grade submission impede the following:

  • Processing academic dismissal and affording students ample time to appeal
  • Giving Financial Aid sufficient time to review if students are meeting satisfactory academic process requirements (SAP) for receiving financial aid, and package and award funds for future terms
  • Providing students with sufficient time to submit grade reports to employers for tuition remission (Certain employers require students to provide their grades in order to receive tuition reimbursement, and some set strict deadlines for submission.)
  • Allowing students sufficient time to secure alternative financing if SAP is not maintained
  • Releasing transcripts for transferring students, graduates and students applying for internships, study abroad and employment
  • Permitting students and advisors enough time to amend upcoming course schedules if failure in a particular course impedes students from taking advanced courses
  • Reporting enrollments, withdrawals, and graduation within the federally mandated timeframe
  • Processing the Dean’s list
