Job Overview:

Albertus Magnus College (NCAA Division III) invites applications for a nine-month position in the department of sports information. Albertus Magnus is a member of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) and currently sponsors 15 varsity sports â€“ menâ€™s and womenâ€™s soccer, menâ€™s and womenâ€™s tennis, womenâ€™s volleyball, field hockey, menâ€™s golf, menâ€™s and womenâ€™s basketball, womenâ€™s swimming & diving, menâ€™s ice hockey, baseball, softball and menâ€™s and womenâ€™s lacrosse.

Specific Duties include: Serving as a primary media contact for menâ€™s ice hockey and other assigned sports, compilation of game statistics and all-time records, complete reports and nominations for NCAA, GNAC and regional honors, oversight of event management, assist with the athletics website and social media sites, and coordinating the video efforts and video streamlining of the athletic department.

Essential Functions:

Produce timely press releases and score reporting, game/feature stories, game programs and record books with primary focus on menâ€™s ice hockey.
Effectively utilize new technology such as video and social media to market, promote, and enhance the visibility of Albertus Magnus Athletics in line with department goals
Responsible for maintaining statistics during all home ice hockey events and selected sports, as well as working with the Sports Information Director, media and SIDs from other college campuses to ensure that results are disseminated as quickly and effectively as possible to all external media outlets
Work with appropriate staff members and coaches to nominate student-athletes for academic and athletic honors, scholarships and awards
Independently responsible for setting up and assisting with game prep for home athletic competitions and various game operations needs prior to the start/conclusion of all home athletic events
Assist in supervising both interns and graduate assistant, along with work study students
Will also assist with other departmental projects as needed

Qualifications:

Bachelorâ€™s Degree required. Masterâ€™s preferred.
Two or more years of significant experience in a sports information environment.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Experience with StatCrew Software and PrestoSports Platform.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills â€“ both written and verbal.
Applicants should be proficient with Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop and Indesign, MS Office Suite, as well as video editing and streaming programs.
Strong graphic design, video editing and social media analytics skills are required.

Job Overview:

The Biology/Chemistry/Mathematics Department of Albertus Magnus College invites applications for a full-time, 10-month faculty position beginning August, 2019. The faculty member will teach a variety of courses in the traditional undergraduate program, including lab courses, serve as a mentor and academic advisor for students, participate in course development, outcomes assessments and serve on College committees. Candidates should possess a terminal degree in their field of expertise, with demonstrated experience and strengths in college-level teaching and broad interests in biology. Teaching twelve credit hours per semester is required. Teaching responsibilities in the Fall semester will include one lecture and laboratory section of (1) CH324: Biochemistry, (2) BI 111: General Biology I, and (3) Senior Science Seminar (SC351). Program Overview:

The Department of Visual and Performing Arts is seeking a qualified candidate to develop programming in new media design, including game and interactive design. Teaching opportunities include 3D Game Design, 2D Game Design, Animation Studio, Digital Modeling and Visual Effects, VR/AR Design. The ability to teach drawing and illustration as well as our General Education course, Evolution of Art is desirable.

The successful candidate will have a deep commitment to teaching and advising a diverse student population, and a broad knowledge of contemporary design practice as well as art and design history. A strong technical, theoretical and critical understanding of the place new media design can have in the context of a liberal arts curriculum is important.

Duties include teaching 4 classes per semester, serve on college committees, advise students, hold office hours, participate in commencements, planning days and convocations.

Qualifications:

A terminal degree (MFA) in a studio discipline or related field e.g., Digital Arts, Computational Arts, Interactive Multimedia, Game Design, or Communication Studies is required. A Ph.D. will also be considered if the candidate has an active creative practice.

Candidates must hold PhD in Religious Studies, Philosophy of Religion, Modern Religious Thought, or similar degree. The position entails a 4/4 teaching load that includes core humanities courses for undergraduates in addition to teaching broadly in the academic study of religion, including methods and theories in Religious Studies, Catholic Intellectual Traditions, Religion and Social Concerns, and Introduction to Religious Studies. Program Overview:

The MAATC program, the only one of its kind in Connecticut, has been in operation for over 20 years; long AATA approved and was recently accredited by CAAHEP, in alignment with ACATE's new requirements. The graduate program is intended to prepare professional clinicians with deep expertise in Art Therapy and competence in mental health counseling. The curriculum includes the coursework necessary to qualify for post-graduate counselor licensure (the LPC credential). The program, which is housed in the Department of Psychology, is noteworthy for its strong empirical focus; our graduates have been awarded AATA's Research awards for their thesis projects and they consistently present at AATA conferences.

Essential Functions:

Direct the MAATC program with teaching and advisement responsibilities.

Qualifications:

The successful applicant will possess an earned doctorate in Art Therapy, Counselor Education, Counseling or Clinical Psychology, or a closely related field (ABD will be considered) and must be a registered, board-certified art therapist (ATR-BC) with substantial clinical experience. Teaching experience at the graduate level is essential. Licensure in CT or license-eligibility, administrative experience, and. a track record of scholarship and artistic practice are highly desirable. Some degree of comfort with empirical research is preferred. Willingness to collaborate with colleagues from other disciplines, especially clinical and counseling psychology, is essential.

Reports to:

Aquatics Director

Position Summary:

Responsible for ensuring the safety of facility patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Recognize and respond quickly and effectively in emergencies
Enforce all aquatic facility policies, rules, and regulations
Inspect the facility on a daily schedule and report any unsafe conditions or equipment to the supervisor
Complete records and reports
Participate in regular in-service training
Maintain fitness level (swimming skills, strength and endurance)
Complete additional duties as assigned by the Aquatics Director
Maintain cleanliness of facility
Thorough knowledge and application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques
An understanding of facility characteristics, rules, policies, and procedures
Leadership and public relations skills

Qualifications:

Current certification in the following:
- Lifeguarding
