The Leadership Immersion Program provides an opportunity for promising first-year students to develop the leadership habits and skills that will enable them to succeed personally, professionally, academically, and as members of society.

These core leadership habits and skills include:

• Vision and planning

• Decision-making

• Information sharing

• Outcomes concern

• Self-awareness

• Self-management

• Social awareness

• Relationship management

• Decision fairness

• Integrity

• Orientation to lifelong learning

Albertus Magnus College Leadership Immersion Program

How it works:

The program consists of an intensive three day on-campus Leadership Workshop before the start of the fall semester, a leadership course that students complete in the fall term, and a student presentation during the following spring Experiential Learning Day based on a leadership project completed as part of the first semester course. Students who complete the program and earn a cumulative 3.0 grade point average through their first year will receive a $1,000 scholarship for their sophomore year. To successfully complete the program, students will:

  1. Complete the three day summer Leadership Workshop.
  2. Complete the first semester leadership course.
  3. Present a leadership project at Experiential Learning Day.
  4. Earn a 3.0 cumulative grade point average for the first year.
  5. Complete a minimum of 27 credits by the conclusion of the second semester of the first year.

Who qualifies?

Participants must be accepted to the College and enroll for fall 2018 to be identified and nominated by the Leadership Immersion Program Committee.

Check in for the program will be on Wednesday, August 15th from 8 am - 9 am in the Hubert Campus Center. Once students check in and receive their keys they will be shown to their room to drop off belongings. The program will start promptly at 9 am.
