The University of Notre Dame has presented Dianne M. Pinderhughes '69, professor of
Africana studies and political science at Notre Dame, with the 2012 Reinhold Niebuhr
Award, which "honors an individual whose life and writings promote or exemplify the
area of social justice in modern life." She received the M.A. in 1973 and the Ph.D.
in 1977, both from the University of Chicago.
