Offices of Dominican Mission and Ministries

Please welcome Sister Joan Scanlon, O.P. as the Interim Assistant to the President for Dominican Mission. Sister Joan will serve in this position during the 2016-2017 academic year.

Most recently, Sister Joan has served on the Leadership Team of the Dominican Sisters of Peace. She has served as the Executive Director of the Dominican Alliance; as a graduate faculty member in the Institute of Pastoral Studies, Loyola University, Chicago; the University of St. Mary of the Lake, Mundelein, Illinois; and as an adjust faculty member at Catholic Theological Union, Chicago.

Sister Joan has a Ph.D. in Pastoral Counseling and Psychology from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois; an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Loyola University, Chicago; and a B.A. in English and French from Siena College, Memphis, Tennessee.

Sister Joan has also served as a trustee of Ohio Dominican University, Columbus; St. Catharine College, Kentucky; and Spaulding University, Kentucky.
