87% of our students participate in an internship

Internships offer students who have successfully completed significant coursework in their chosen majors with an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field under the supervision of an on-site professional. The purpose of internships is to enable students to draw intellectual connections between what they have learned in coursework and what they learn on the internship site, which they make explicit through a final project incorporating both academic work and insights gained through the internship experience. Internships can be designed such that they carry from 3 to 9 credit hours.

Service Learning Opportunities

The Academic Service-Learning Initiative at Albertus cultivates partnerships between the College and the Greater New Haven Community that afford students the opportunity to practice civic engagement and social responsibility as they develop community leadership skills. Other opportunities have included community service beyond Connecticut, such as a mission trip in June 2016 sponsored by the Dominican Sisters of Peace, where students assisted with educational opportunities at two schools in Jamaica.

Study Abroad Programs

Through partnerships with Assumption College and with the American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS), Albertus Magnus College students have the opportunity to study abroad in 23 countries in Asia, Australia, Europe, South Africa and the Americas plus multi-country traveling programs throughout Western Europe.
