Overview

Albertus Magnus College (NCAA Division III) invites applications for a Sports Information Graduate Assistant position in the Department of Athletics. Albertus Magnus is a member of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) and currently sponsors 15 varsity sports – men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s tennis, women’s volleyball, field hockey, men’s golf, men’s and women’s basketball, women’s swimming & diving, men’s ice hockey, baseball, softball and men’s and women’s lacrosse.

Works as part of the Sports Information Office to assist with the athletics website and social media sites, oversee game-day event management, and generate stories that highlight the significant achievements of the Athletics and its programs/student-athletes.

Graduate Assistant positions are limited to applicants seeking a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master of Science in Management and Organizational Leadership (MSMOL).

Essential Functions
  • Updating and maintaining the official Albertus Magnus College athletics website, www.albertusfalcons.com.
  • Operates within the mission of the College and athletics department to ensure a full NCAA DIII student-athlete experience.
  • Follows all institutional, GNAC, and NCAA regulations regarding designated responsibilities and athletics in general.
  • Assists the Sports Information Director and Assistant Sports Information Director in the day-to-day operation of a collegiate sports information office.
  • Assists in organizing the setup and breakdown of all home athletic events.
  • Assists with the production of the Albertus Magnus Athletics live stream through Stretch Internet and PrestoSports.
  • Produce timely press releases and score reporting, game/feature stories, game programs, and record books.
  • Assist with photography and team media days.
  • Help coordinate with the Sports Information Director with special athletic events such as Albertus Madness, Athletics Banquet, etc. 
  • Will also assist with other departmental projects as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree required 
  • Acceptance to the Albertus Magnus College full-time graduate program. 
Knowledge | Skills | Abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop and Indesign.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google G Suite programs
Special Work Schedule Requirements
  • Nights and weekend hours. 
  • Graduate Assistants are expected to fulfill a two-year commitment to the Athletic Department in line with the two-year department commitment of educational benefits as outlined in the Graduate Assistant Contract
