| Overview |
Member of the Finance team that will ensure accurate processing and recording of the
college's payroll. Responsible for the accurate and timely administration and processing
of the bi-weekly, monthly, and work-study payrolls; payroll taxes and all benefits
associated with the employees’ salaries and wages; and administration of the employee
deferred compensation plans. Payroll Specialist is also responsible for maintaining
personnel files related to payroll, leave and retirement programs; providing reports,
and answering inquiries pertaining to all of these areas.

| Essential Functions |
- Gather and review electronic timesheets for the bi-weekly (Staff) employees
- Gather and review timesheets for the bi-weekly (Work study) employees
- Gather, review and maintain records of contracts for monthly (Faculty and Coaches)
employees
- Enter and submit payroll figures to ADP, reviewing for accuracy upon completion and
preparing appropriate journal entries.
- Oversee TIAA plan (403(b)) participation, employee contributions, reconcile quarterly
reports and fee disclosures
- Reconcile the quarterly 941 reports
- Provide necessary information to members in the finance department
- Complete various surveys- YAFFE, IPEDS, CUPA, AAUP
- Assist with audits including annual financial audit, worker’s compensation audit,
college-wide audit, 403(b) plan audit; and preparation of Form990
- Assist employees with questions regarding payroll, withholdings, and retirement 403(b)
plan
- Track all FMLA and oversee CT Paid Leave program
- Manage employee PTO program
- Manage various employee deductions: AFLAC, garnishments, gifts, Health Savings Account,
etc.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate employee records with ADP

| Qualifications |
- Outstanding attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities upon request
- Confidentiality maintained at all times
- Excellent computer skills, including Excel, Access, Word
- Dependable, prompt, able to work with all members of the college community
- Experience with ADP Workforce required.
- Experience working with TIAA is a plus

- Associates Degree or higher
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred

- Evening and some weekend hours required.
- When the college is closed, certain duties require computer access from home
