| Overview |
The Head Coach is the individual in charge of the day-to-day operation of the men’s
varsity soccer program at Albertus Magnus College. The Head Coach ensures their team
has the requisite roster size, develops a recruiting plan to ensure long-term sustainability
and retention of a competitive roster.
The Head Coach also must provide positive mentorship to each student-athlete that
fosters and develops the premise that athletics are an integral component of the student
experience, and that athletic achievement must not come at the expense of academic
success.
In addition the position also has department wide administrative duties as outlined
in the following section.

| Essential Functions |
The head Coach/ Budget administrator develops and implements a recruiting plan to
achieve and maintain a roster size adequate for sponsorship of men’s soccer. He provides
a year-round strength and conditioning program along with developing and implementing
a daily practice plan to insure proper preparation for intercollegiate competition.
The men’s soccer coach provides contest preparation by scouting opponents. The coach
must manage a coaching staff which could include a part-time assistant coach, a graduate
assistant coach and any number of volunteer assistant coaches.
The coach promotes the visions and values of Albertus Magnus College by emphasizing
the experience and education of each student-athlete as the most important component
of intercollegiate athletic participation
As a budget administrator this individual Works with Athletic Director on establishing
and managing department and individual sports operating budgets, works with school
business office on billing and accounts payable and assists with department financial
reporting to various outside agencies.

| Qualifications |
Bachelor’s Degree preferred along with a background of success as either a participant
or coach in soccer with 1-3 years of experience as a coach, preferably at the college
level. A basic understanding of NCAA Division III rules and regulations regarding
the recruitment of student-athletes and participation in intercollegiate athletics
is required.
