Overview The Library Technology and Resources Coordinator facilitates the coordination of services between librarians, students, and faculty to access information resources, support academic research, and utilize information technology. This role specifically supports the technical systems needs of the library, and collaborates with other members of the Library and Information Technology Services division on various functions, including access services, circulation services, collection development services, event support, and the promotion of library services.

Essential Functions
  • Provide first-level help desk support for phone calls and walk-in visitors to Rosary Hall and Aquinas Hall.
  • Provide first-level classroom equipment support to instructors and faculty.
  • Create and maintain access services reports and notices
  • Support the library staff in the use of the library management system (OCLC).
  • Serve as on-ground Library and Information Technology Services staff coverage 
  • Maintain and update the research guides using the LibGuides system.
  • Facilitate communications with faculty regarding library services and facilities Faculty.
  • Collaborate with other support staff on special tasks and projects. 
  • Provide circulation and information help desk services 
  • Assist with the digitizing of library reserve materials for faculty and staff.
  • Provide collection services, including the shelving of books, removal of books from the collection, and shelf-reading the collection for organization
  • Work with the Library Operations Manager and the VP of LITS to develop and implement new projects
  • Promote library services, facilities, and activities through social media and other channels
  • Take a lead role in seeking out new projects and work with the LITS team to complete them.
  • Provide support for special projects in the Library & ITS department, which may include videography and video editing, website development, network infrastructure improvements, among other projects 
  • Manage the FWS student workers and assist with the Tech Tutors
  • Lead programming of events for the library
  • Serve as cataloger for the library
      • Categorize and classify library materials, including books, CDs, films, newspapers, or other documents.
      • Follow library standards and guidelines when classifying documents.
      • Ensure all materials can be retrieved conveniently using standardized methods.
      • Perform original and copy cataloging and adapt online records according to guidelines in all subject areas and languages.
      • Input details about new material into the library catalog.
      • Consult with colleagues on improving the cataloging process.
Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the LibGuide platform
  • Experience with library databases
  • Familiarity with ILS, specifically OCLC WMS
  • Working understanding of information technology resources
  • Bachelor’s degree

Special Work Schedule Requirements Normal office environment. Weekend and evening work are expected.
