| Overview |
The Coordinator of Dominican Ministries and Service with the Dominican Mission Officer
will design, implement and oversee a plan in collaboration with other college groups
that promotes the Dominican pillars of study, prayer/spirituality, community and service.
This program will provide leadership, direction and opportunities in light of the
developmental needs of the students from the day and adult divisions. This is a full-time
35 hour per week position during the Academic year from August 1- June 30.

| Essential Functions |
The Coordinator of Dominican Ministries will develop relationships with the students
and members of the college community in order to foster growth in the four pillars.
Along with student leaders the Coordinator will develop programs that center around
study, prayer, community, and service. Reflection will be an important part of all
programming.
This plan will include elements listed below:
- Provides a presence and interaction with students to build community,
- Coordinate local service opportunities, and as appropriate national and international
opportunities,
- Provides Catholic and interfaith prayer services,
- Oversight of the chapel,
- Membership on the liturgical planning group, responsibilities for weekly or biweekly
liturgies,
- Membership on the Advisory Committee for the Promotion of Dominican Mission and Ministries,
Meister Eckhart Center Advisory Committee, Wellness Collaborative, Justice Panel Committee,
Founders’ Day Committee, Candlelight Convocation Committee
- Develops a student ministry team,
- Plans mini-retreat programs, such as collaborations with Career Services,
- Provides opportunities for student preaching,
- Provides study opportunities related to Catholic Social Teaching, Scripture, interfaith
dialogue, Dominican Tradition, contemporary issues
- Promotes and encourages student participation in the Dominican College Preaching in
Action Conference,
- Promotes opportunities that engage student interests offered by the college and local
community,
- Collaborates with student services
- Collaborates with athletic programs in developing seasonal blessings of student athletes,
- Organizes and leads the semester Peace Leadership Workshop,
- With the Office of Dominican Mission plans and promotes Albert Week,
- Plans and promotes an annual Alternative Spring Break program,
- Assists students with service requirements as part of the St. Dominic Service Award
and service requirement of HU 101 Classes,
- Organizes and promotes the annual Service Day,
- Promotes ministries through social media.

| Qualifications |
- Education: BA (MA preferred) in theology, pastoral ministry, divinity or related fields/disciplines.
- Experience: Experience in young adult ministry.
- Preferred Experience: Experience in a Catholic Academic and/or Pastoral Ministry setting.

to actively recruit students, to be flexible with time and schedules, to be committed
to a culturally diverse, young adult population.

| Special Work Schedule Requirements |
In order to meet student’s needs, this position will have a flexible schedule which
requires some weekend and evening hours. Periodically this position will require some
multi-day experiences such as the Dominican College Preaching in Action Conference,
Alternative Spring Break and student outreach opportunities.
