| Overview |
The Graduate Residence Hall Director (GRHD) is responsible for the general welfare
of the students within the residence halls. The GRHD is expected to positively influence,
contribute to, and improve the quality of life of students through community building
and education, while enforcing college policies and procedures to maintain a safe
environment. The GRHD directly supervises 6-10 Resident Assistants and works with
a Residential Life Professional Staff Team to provide training, professional development
and support.
This is a 12-month contract, live-in position – including a meal plan with Albertus
Magnus College’s dining services, a partially-furnished apartment, reserved parking,
free laundry, and professional development opportunities. The 12-month (July-June)
contract can be renewed for subsequent years at the discretion of Albertus Magnus
College.

| Essential Functions |
- Assists with overall operations of a residential area of up to 350 residents
- Directly supervise 6-10 Resident Assistants, maintain ongoing performance evaluations
and conduct appropriate action
- Maintain a visible presence in residence halls, including regular contact with residents
and RAs
- Communicate with Facilities in regard to work or maintenance orders pertaining to
residence halls.
- Assist in the planning of Resident Assistant Training for Fall and Spring Semesters
- Act as a referral agent, providing basic counseling and crisis management interventions
with students, educating and referring them to campus resources
- Assist in the facilitation and coordination of programming and community building
in the residence halls
- Assist in the planning and implementation of recruitment, selection, training and
evaluations of RA staff
- Assist with administrative tasks and building operations such as building openings,
closings, room key administration and health and safety inspections.
- Serve on a year-round on-call duty rotation
- Serve as Student Conduct Officer for lower level policy violations
- Assist in providing housing coverage during breaks and preseason athletics
- Assist with the planning and implementation of special college events
- Other Duties as Assigned

- Applicants must be enrolled full-time in a Graduate Program at Albertus Magnus College
- Residential Assistant experience

| Special Work Schedule Requirements |
This is a 12-month, live-in position. The majority of required office hours must be
scheduled M-F, between 8:30am-4:30pm. Flexibility is essential as late hours and some
evening and weekend hours are required.
