Overview

The Financial Aid Office Graduate Assistant is a 10-month position each year over the course of earning a Master’s degree at Albertus Magnus College. The Graduate Assistant position is limited to applicants seeking a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Science in Management and Organizational Leadership (MSMOL), or Master of Science in Accounting (MSA). 

The Graduate Assistant will work part-time to assist with reconciliation, direct audits of student files, and help with data and analytical surveys. The Graduate Assistant will also work to provide excellent customer service to students, their parents, and all auxiliary offices and staff.

Essential Functions
  • Help with reconciliation of funds
  • Perform direct audits of federal tax returns
  • Collect and maintain data to assist with analytical surveys and audit prep
  • Provide excellent customer service to students, their parents, and all auxiliary offices and staff
  • Assist with the sending of missing document letters/emails for all programs, the sorting, entering, and filing of all documents, and phone coverage
Qualifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Solid computer skills; willingness to learn and adapt to new software/technology
  • Detail oriented and organized; able to prioritize and complete tasks
  • Adaptable to change; able to work independently and with a team 
  • Highly professional, have good judgement and be willing to take initiative
  • Ability to multitask and work gracefully under pressure
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (knowledge of VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and SUMIF functions preferred)
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Acceptance to the Albertus Magnus College full-time MBA, MSMOL, or MSA graduate program

  • Excellent communication, organization and time management skills
  • Computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google suite
  • Maintains professionalism and confidentiality at all times
  • Works independently and with a team under pressure and be able to multitask
Special Work Schedule Requirements
  • Monday – Thursday, 9:30-4:30, with 30 minute lunch break (6.5 hour shifts)
  • Some weekend hours may be required
