| Overview |
The Albertus Magnus College Division of Student Services is seeking a Coordinator
who will serve as the Principle Designated School Official (PDSO) for Albertus Magnus
College, acting as the main point of contact for the Student and Exchange Visitor
Program (SEVP).
The Coordinator will be responsible for all activities of International Students.
Responsibilities include the advisement of F-1 students after the point of admission
through enrollment; advise administrators, faculty and staff on issues related to
international students; the maintenance of international student records and files;
the coordination and monitoring of the health insurance program for F-1 Visa students
at the college; and assuring that the international students on campus remain on status.
The Coordinator is responsible for full compliance with all aspects of the Student
and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) including the tracking and maintenance
of student records within the SEVIS and providing updates to other DSOs for Albertus
Magnus College’s reporting of statistical data to federal agencies, as well as international
educational organizations.

| Essential Functions |

Work closely with international students, their families and sponsors to provide comprehensive
guidance and support regarding all aspects of the entry process and arrival on campus,
including obtaining lawful entry into the U.S. upon obtaining admission within the
chosen programs of study

Continue the relationship with students, families and sponsors post arrival until
graduation
-
Oversee the F-1 visa international student process, including managing and analyzing documentation;
issuing required immigration documents; and maintaining up-to-date, accurate records
and databases. This individual will collaborate with both undergraduate and graduate
admissions offices as necessary

Coordinate Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) documentation for
F-1 visa international students from initial application through graduation and/or
separation from Albertus Magnus College

Establish, document, evaluate, and report on measurable operational and learning outcomes
for the Office for International Student Services and for international students whom
are being served

Coordinate, evaluate, revise, and conduct an International Student Orientation and
various workshops to create continuous learning opportunities for international students
in accordance with federal regulations for non-immigrant visa holders, national and
local laws, college policies, and sponsorship requirements

Create a calendar of social programs for international students throughout the academic
year to help them acclimate to the United States, Albertus Magnus College and being
on campus

Serve as a resource to students, families and sponsors for any off campus housing
opportunities, local resources and basic needs

Assist faculty with international programs in academic areas

Work closely with professors and advisers to ensure that the student maintains status

Promote the critical role of international students as representatives of their countries
throughout the college and local community

Maintain open communications with various Albertus Magnus College departments through
the coordination and participation in activities developed for the benefit of the
Albertus Magnus College international student population and fulfillment of the college
initiative of global education

Serve as an advocate for international students within a student development framework
-
Establish and maintain professional networks and relationships with local, state,
national, and international organizations and governmental agencies to expand international
student enrollment

Perform other duties as assigned

| Qualifications |
Required: A Bachelor’s degree with three (3) years of international student experience.
At least 3-5 years of experience in higher education, preferably in a small college
campus setting.

Preferred: Experience as a Principle Designated School Official (PDSO) and/or a Designated
School Official (DSO) with a working knowledge of Student and Exchange Visitor Information
System (SEVIS) procedures and legal requirements of international students and hosting
institutions

Preferred: Multiple language competencies to successfully communicate with the international
student population
The Coordinator for International Student Services requires the ability to deliver
a high level of interactive customer service, develop and maintain collaborative relationships,
and possess strong organizational skills. The ideal candidate will have the following:

Well-developed intercultural competencies accompanied by superior written, verbal,
and interpersonal communication skills

Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and
video conferencing software

Strong commitment to service excellence and student success
-
Ability to work well within a team environment to ensure the management of multiple
projects concurrently with a high level of accuracy

Ability to work with staff at all levels within a diverse, multi-cultural, collaborative
environment

| Special Work Schedule Requirements |
Evening and some weekend hours required.
