| Overview |
The Associate Director of Financial Aid oversees systems and technology in support
of all financial aid functions, aligns all financial aid systems with federal and
state regulations to ensure compliance, serves as liaison between Institutional Research
and other departments whose system interface with financial aid, and serves as supervisor
to all counselors and other auxiliary positions.

| Essential Functions |
- Serve as back up to the Director of Financial Aid in her absence
- Assist with all Loan and Grant Processing
- Implement and maintain a working knowledge of PowerFAIDS systems, upgrades, and patch
releases
- Work closely with the Director of Institutional Research for completion of surveys
and reports
- Maintain current policies and procedures
- Counsel students and families on all aspects of financial aid and assist with overflow
processing
- Package Financial Aid
- Troubleshoot PowerFAIDS, COD, and edConnect technical issues and system set-up
- Serve at various campus events, financial literacy presentations, and serve on other
institutional committees as assigned
- Engage in professional development and maintain a working knowledge of all aspects
of financial aid regulations and compliance concerns
- Other duties as assigned

| Qualifications |
- Ability to multi-task in a high-pressure environment
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently, as well as with a team
|
| Knowledge | Skills | Abilities |
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred
- 3-5 years of experience working in a Financial Aid Office or relevant work experience
within an Accredited Higher Education Institution
- Technical proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of PowerFAIDS, SLATE, Navigate, Datatel Colleague System, or DHS SAVE System
preferred
- Experience originating, disbursing, and reconciling federal aid programs
- Experience working with traditional and/or non-traditional students
- Knowledge of Title IV systems (i.e. COD, NSLDS, CPS, etc.)
- Experience developing and maintaining procedural manuals
- Fluency in Spanish preferred

| Special Work Schedule Requirements |
Evening and some weekend hours required.
