| Overview |
Receives on-the-job training and assists the Director in overseeing all programs pertaining
to educator preparation, including undergraduate and graduate programs currently in
place, and assists with supervision of all faculty and staff employed in the Education
Programs Department, including Affiliate Faculty members.

| Essential Functions |
- Assist with leadership responsibilities of the Director.
- Assist with setting and managing the departmental budget.
- Gain familiarity with all programs within the Education Programs Department.
- Gain familiarity with program and student assessment within the Department
- Assist with student advisement responsibilities of the Director of Education Programs.
- Assist with course scheduling and assignment of faculty to course instruction.

| Qualifications |
- Knowledge of the education market nationally and locally, and familiarity with national
and state regulations governing schools and educators.
- Awareness that all programs within the Education Programs Department align with the
College’s programmatic goals, and the mission of the College.
- Dispositions enabling the Assistant Director to collaborate with members of the Education
Programs Department and other members of the Albertus Magnus College community, and
to reach out to a diverse population of professional leaders and individuals who stand
ready to collaborate with the Education Programs Department to strengthen its programs.

| Knowledge | Skills | Abilities |
- Ability to become familiar with the educational climates of various local school districts
and of schools within these districts.
- Ability to cultivate partnerships with administrators, staff, and teachers in the
various local school districts and individual schools where educator candidates serve
in field experiences and complete clinical requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to model good teaching practices for educator candidates within
the educator programs.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with personnel at the
Connecticut Department of Education, as well as with the deans and directors of similar
programs of education in the approximately thirteen other institutions of higher learning
in Connecticut with programs of educator preparation. [Achieved in the context of
active membership in AACTE-CT]

Working conditions are those of all part time faculty/administrators of the College.
