Under the direction of the Director of Career & Professional Development, the Assistant
Director of Career & Professional Development is responsible for assisting with all
aspects of the career development needs of the current students and alumni of Albertus
Magnus College.

| Essential Functions |
- Assist in the management and growth of all programs associated with student experiential
learning.
- Teach sections of ePortfolio Lab courses to second-year students and transfers.
- Assist undergraduate and graduate students in researching and applying for internships,
jobs, and graduate schools.
- Initiate, track, review, and monitor the status of all undergraduate and graduate
interns assigned within Handshake.
- Maintain current relationships with internship sites, as well as develop new partnerships
for future placements.
- Advise students through resume preparation, occupational research, interviewing techniques,
job search strategies, and other career-related concerns.
- Assist with the maintenance of current or proposed electronic and social media resources.
- Assist Director of Career & Professional Development in coordinating and executing
office events, including workshops, career fairs, and networking receptions.
- Produce progress reports on initiatives, maintain a database, and prepare reports
of student activity.
- Monitor Curricular (CPT) and Optional (OPT) Practical Training for F-1 international
students.

| Education |
Master’s degree preferred in psychology, sociology, human services, counseling, student
services, or a related field.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
with students, staff, faculty, alumni, and the public.
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively on a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Experience with a career management system is a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of social media platforms and the ability to market the goals
of the department on a consistent basis.
- Experience with teaching in a classroom setting and presenting workshops.
- Expertise in the area of Excel or Google Sheets.

| Special Work Schedule Requirements |
Deskwork in an office environment. Evening hours required one day a week. Comfortable
with online and virtual meetings. Occasional weekend hours.
