Overview	Albertus Magnus College invites applications for a full-time assistant or associate professor of Social Work in the Department of Sociology beginning in Fall 2021. The College currently offers undergraduate programs in sociology and criminal justice and is exploring the development of a Master of Social Work program and the expansion of its current undergraduate social work concentration into a major. We are seeking candidates with the ability to advise the College and to lead program development. The successful candidate should possess a demonstrated commitment to the profession and practice of social work, knowledge and experience in Council of Social Work Education, and evidence of an active professional development/teaching/practice agenda in critical social work practice focused on intersectional inequalities and structural racism within the US context. With over 50% of the population being students of color, the College takes pride in its racially and ethnically diverse student body and seeks a candidate who can contribute to fostering a welcoming, supportive community. The candidate should have experience of deep engagement with low income populations and communities of color and demonstrate a commitment to the College’s mission of preparing students to become responsible, productive citizens and lifelong learners, committed to contributing to their communities and to becoming moral leaders in a complex world. Qualifications	The successful candidate should be an innovative and strategic visionary with empowering, democratic team-building and interpersonal skills who is capable of leading the College in the development of CSWE accredited B.S.W. and M.S.W. programs. In addition, the candidate will possess: A Ph.D., D.S.W. or equivalent in Social Work, Sociology or a related discipline (Advanced ABD candidates will be considered, with a Ph.D. or D.S.W. required in hand by August 1, 2021) A Master of Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program (if from an international university, must send letter of equivalency from CSWE) Three years of full-time post-MSW practice experience. Demonstrated understanding of the CSWE accreditation process. Evidence of ability to teach effectively within, and contribute positively to, a diverse, multi-ethnic, multicultural student population and campus environment by satisfying at least one of the three criteria listed below: develops and/or teaches curricula that advances racial and social justice drawing from their engagement with communities of color. demonstrates a record of success in research or creative activities focused on underserved communities. serves as a role model for our diverse student body and has a demonstrated commitment to underserved communities and the academic success of all students.

Qualifications

Three years of full-time post-MSW practice experience.

Knowledge \| Skills \| Abilities	Five or more years of full-time post-MSW experience in a community social work setting Higher education experience in administration at the Director level or higher. Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) (or equivalent) licensure Social work practice and/or research experience with Black or Latina/o populations Proficiency in the Spanish language
