Overview Based in Rosary Hall Library and Aquinas Hall, the Access Services and Instructional Technology Assistant facilitates the coordination of services between librarians, students, and faculty to access information resources, support academic research, and utilize information technology. Collaborates with other members of the Library and Information Technology Services division on various functions, including access services, circulation services, collection development services, and other technical library services. This part-time position works with students, faculty, and staff who struggle with technology, while also working with more advanced computer users to continue to develop their skills with the various software tools provided in the Lab.

Essential Functions
  • Provide individual and small group technology training and support for the Albertus community. 
  • Provide first-level help desk support for phone calls and walk-in visitors to Rosary Hall and Aquinas Hall.
  • Provide first-level classroom equipment support to instructors and faculty.
  • Provide assistance to students who need support with eLearning, ePortfolio, myAlbertus, Google Apps or any other technology tool provided by the College.
  • Provide support for special projects in the Library & ITS department, which may include videography and video editing, website development, network infrastructure improvements, among other projects
  • Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor and attitude, including a willingness to help, responsiveness to feedback and adequate initiative to improve skills.
  • Ensure that computer users are supported and provide assistance as needed.
  • Report equipment issues, update needs or software requests to the appropriate member of the ITS team. 
  • Assist the Instructional Technology Team with their daily tasks
  • Occasional responsibility for opening and closing the library building
  • Take a lead role in seeking out new projects and work with LITS team to complete them.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience using Albertus’ systems (myAlbertus, eLearning & ePortfolio)
  • A Proficiency with Microsoft Office or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree
Knowledge | Skills | Abilities
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service.
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Strong skills using eLearning and ePortfolio
  • Familiar with using Google Apps (including Gmail and Google Drive)
  • Comfortable with key functions on PC computers, smartphones and tablet devices
  • Familiar with photo and video editing software a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Seeks out new projects to work on.
Special Work Schedule Requirements Normal office environment. Evening work expected.
