Director of Financial Aid
Overview |
Reporting directly to the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing,
the Director of Financial Aid is among one of six leaders within the entire division.
The Director of Financial Aid is directly responsible for the management and administration
of all federal, state, private, and institutional financial aid in compliance with
external and institutional policies and regulations; provides leadership, direction,
and supervision for the Financial Aid Office; and directs the review, interpretation
and analysis of proposed policies and legislation relating to administering financial
aid.

Essential Functions |
- Direct and oversee all aspects of the financial aid operations
- Work closely with financial aid staff to establish goals and procedures to ensure
compliance in all aspects of financial aid processing and consumer information
- Prepare and maintain annual financial aid budgets that leverage the College’s enrollment
goals by implementing packaging and awarding policies
- Responsible for updating and maintaining the College’s PPA/ECAR with the Department
of Education
- DPA for access to all federal websites including, but not limited to, SAIG Mailbox,
NSLDS, CPS, COD, DL Tools, EdConnect, DHS SAVE System, and eCampus-Based System
- Coordinate the processing and completion of the FISAP, CT State Grant, IPEDS, NCAA
reports, and all other College reporting requests
- Administer federal, state, and institutional aid in accordance with federal, state,
and institutional polices and compliance guidelines
- Coordinate recruitment and financial aid efforts with Professional and Graduate Studies
Programs, Full-Time Undergraduate Admissions, and Business Offices
- Respond to internal, state, and federal audits
- Responsible for conducting the search and hiring of new financial aid staff members
- Confirm and submit all CDR Challenge Cases
- Award all Traditional Undergraduate students and serve as back-up to awarding Professional
and Graduate Studies students
- Serve as liaison between the Financial Aid Office and the Athletic Department
- Primary point of contact for EAB for financial aid
- Counsel students and families on all aspects of financial aid and assist with overflow
processing
- Serve at various campus events, financial literacy presentations, and serve on other
institutional committees as assigned
- Engage in professional development and maintain a working knowledge of all aspects
of financial aid regulations and industry practices
- Other duties as assigned

Education |
Bachelor’s Degree Required (Master’s Degree preferred)

Knowledge | Skills | Abilities |
- Technical proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
- Working knowledge of various federal and state financial aid compliance rules and
regulations
- Knowledge of PowerFAIDS, SLATE, Navigate, Datatel Colleague System, or DHS SAVE System
preferred
- Experience working with traditional, non-traditional college students and their parents
- Knowledge of Title IV systems (i.e. COD, NSLDS, CPS, etc.)
- Experience developing and maintaining procedural manuals
- Familiarity with Single Compliance Audits

Special Work Schedule Requirements |
Work days are typically between Monday and Friday. Some late evenings and weekends
are required for open houses, peak processing times, and other college related activities.
