Description | Dr. Jeffrey came to Albertus Magnus College with 13 years of teaching and leadership experience in nursing education. She served as the Associate Director at the University of Bridgeport from 2021 to 2023 and was a nursing faculty member at St. Vincent’s College at Sacred Heart University from 2016 to 2021. She also served as the interim chair of nursing from January 2018 to July 2018. Dr. Jeffrey has been a registered nurse for 25 years; during this time, she has worked in various hospital settings including telemetry, medical/surgical, emergency department, and hospice. She has taught undergraduate and graduate-level nursing courses both online and in traditional classroom settings. Her teaching repertoire includes health assessment and nursing theory, nursing research, curriculum development and design, and teaching assessment and evaluation of outcomes. Dr. Jeffrey has served as course leader for nursing fundamentals, adult child nursing, and LPN bridge courses. She has also supervised undergraduate students clinically in various hospital and long term care settings. Dr. Jeffrey graduated from St. Vincent’s College with an Associate of Science degree, the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Sacred Heart University with a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) specializing in nursing education, and Capella University with a Doctor of Education (EdD) specializing in Adult Education. She also holds a post master's certificate in Educational Leadership and Accountability from Capella University. Dr. Jeffrey is a certified nurse educator (CNE) and a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the National League for Nurses, and the American Nurses Association. Her research interests include incivility prevention in nursing education and the promotion of student engagement in nursing education. Dr. Jeffrey is passionate about nursing education and truly enjoys assisting nursing students on their educational journey to becoming registered nurses. |
