DescriptionCarol Huckaby is an Assistant Professor of Psychology and Director of the Master of Science in Human Services program at Albertus Magnus College. An alumna of Albertus, Professor Huckaby began her teaching journey at the college as an adjunct faculty member in 1998 before stepping into her full-time faculty and program leadership roles.

Dedicated to creating an interactive, experiential learning environment, Professor Huckaby believes students learn best when they can actively share their knowledge, challenge ideas, and evolve into critical thinkers and empathetic leaders. Recognizing that many students navigate full-time studies alongside demanding careers, families, and personal commitments, she is deeply dedicated to providing a supportive, understanding, and accessible educational experience.

Beyond the classroom, Professor Huckaby brings over 35 years of executive management and training expertise across state agencies, private organizations, and non-profits. Her leadership background includes serving as Director of Programs at the CT Council of Family Service Agencies—where she managed the Empowering People for Success program—and Director of Education and Training for the CT Women’s Consortium. Throughout her career, she has spearheaded initiatives to help organizations eliminate bias and better serve vulnerable populations. Her clinical and educational training expertise encompasses trauma-informed care, cultural diversity, substance abuse, women’s and children’s mental health, and the Cornell University-developed Family Development Credentialing program.
