New Haven, Conn., October 21, 2024 Albertus Magnus College is pleased to once again be recognized by Forbes Advisor, this  time for being a Top 6 choice for online education in the State of Connecticut. In particular, the convenience for  undergraduates to earn 30 credits in one year while taking two classes during an eight-week term received a big shout-out.  Also noted were programs in accounting, computer information systems, human services, and psychology in which degree

seekers can find an option that fits their interests.

“Perhaps the biggest highlight of the report was an emphasis on Albertus’ access to internships and experiential learning,” said  Vice President for Enrollment Management Brian Fernandes. “The opportunity to develop crucial critical thinking skills and  apply them right away to real-life situations is a big differentiator when it comes to an Albertus education. That is reflected in  the fact that 98% of our graduates are either employed or in graduate school within six months of graduation”

Forbes Advisor also emphasized how Albertus, a Catholic college in the Dominican tradition, offers credit for life experience  and financial aid opportunities for part time and full-time students.

According to the US Census Bureau, Connecticut is one of the most educated states in the country, with 42% of adults holding  a bachelor’s degree or higher. With many jobs requiring a college degree, online options are becoming increasingly more  popular because of their convenience. Keeping this top of mind, Forbes Advisor analyzed over 3,800 accredited, nonprofit  colleges and universities nationwide; fact-checked information five times; and only 7.12% of those eligible to be considered  were awarded a ranking.

In its methodology, Forbes Advisor scored schools on the metrics:

  • Student Outcomes (graduation rates, median earnings, and retention rate);
  • Affordability (average tuition, median federal student loan debt, and percentage of students who take out loans);  • Student Experience (student-to-faculty ratio, socioeconomic diversity, and number of available online bachelor’s degrees);  • Credibility (fully accredited and non-profit status);
  • Application Process (acceptance rate and use of Common App)

In a separate ranking last year, Forbes Advisor recognized Albertus as the #1 Online Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice in the  state. Earlier this year, US News & World Report saluted Albertus for both its online bachelor’s and master’s programs — for  the fourth year in a row.
