 5th Annual Golf Classic

5th Annual Golf Classic

New Haven, Conn., May 25, 2023 – Calling all golfers!  Better weather is here, so golf games are in full swing.  On June 26, 2023, Albertus Magnus College will hold its 5th Annual Golf Classic at the iconic New Haven Country Club.  This year, Knights of Columbus and Noble Wealth Advisors of Janney Montgomery Scott are the event’s two presenting sponsors.

Since its inception, this tournament has raised more than $250,000 in scholarship funds that transform and empower the lives of young people through education.  Scholarship support is an institutional priority of Albertus because more than 90-percent of our students receive some form of financial assistance.  Scholarships help us attract outstanding students, make a college degree more affordable, and allow our students to concentrate more fully on their studies and educational experience.

These funds are also essential to continue to make Albertus students and graduates workforce ready.  For the past seven consecutive years, Albertus Magnus College graduates have outpaced the national average when it comes to finding jobs or continuing their education within six months after earning their bachelor’s degree.  The Class of 2022 alumni achieved a 98-percent success rate  -- a new all-time high for the College -- versus the most recent 84-percent national comparison rate, according to the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) First-Destination Survey results.  Each of the College’s last seven graduating classes have achieved at least a 95-percent success rate in the important early career success and return on investment metric.

“This tournament demonstrates our on-going dedication to student success in the classroom and applying that success in the real world.  Your support will help us maintain our commitment to our students and instill in them the capacity to lead lives of distinction and service and to be life-long learners,” said Vice President for Advancement Mary Young ’91.
