| Description | Rosa E. Rivera-Hainaj, Ph.D., serves as Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty and Professor of Chemistry. In this role, she provides leadership for all academic programs and oversees the library and information technology services, advising and student success, the Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence, the Center for Experiential Outreach and all academic-related offices.
Dr. Rivera-Hainaj earned her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Case Western Reserve University and a B.S. in Chemistry, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Puerto Rico – Mayagüez. As a faculty member, she has taught chemistry and its subdisciplines, mentored students in undergraduate research, and published her scholarship in peer-reviewed journals. She has also provided professional development for K–12 teachers and shared her expertise at numerous conferences and forums worldwide. An accomplished academic leader, Dr. Rivera-Hainaj has a strong record of success in fundraising through grants and donations, has received multiple leadership honors, and has mentored colleagues and students both professionally and personally. Originally from Puerto Rico, she is married to an Albanian (making their home tricultural) and is the proud mamá to three young men. CV | |
