DescriptionElliot Wolfer has been a registered nurse for 16 years with experience in urgent & emergency medicine, correctional healthcare, behavioral health, and long term care/rehab staff development. He has 14 years of nursing education experience with five of those years in academia, teaching in both practical nursing and baccalaureate programs. He has a passion for simulation and nursing skills lab education as well as increasing awareness in nursing education for the special healthcare needs of the LGBTQ+ community. Elliot graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Alfred University, an Associate's Degree in Nursing from SUNY Alfred State College, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Western Governors University, and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a specialty in Nursing Education from Aspen University. He’s a member of Sigma Theta Tau and a devoted mentor for LGBTQ+ students. His research interests include increasing LGBTQ+ healthcare education in the health professions with aspirations to develop a course specific to the healthcare needs of this population.
