Albertus Magnus Raises More Than $100,000 at Inaugural Golf Tournament
Silver Horn Scholarship Golf Classic Benefits Students Who Face Financial Hardships
Albertus Magnus College is pleased to announce that more than $100,000 was raised at the first annual Silver Horn Scholarship Golf Classic. The event, which was held on July 22 at the New Haven Country Club in Hamden, Connecticut, attracted more than 100 golfers representing about 20 businesses throughout the state.
Noble Wealth Advisors of Janney Montgomery Scott was the Title Sponsor and the three Presenting Sponsors were FIP Construction, Inc., Knights of Columbus, and ConnectiCare. Donations and sponsorships directly support the Silver Horn Scholarship Fund which transforms and empowers lives by providing essential financial support to students who face financial hardships in their junior and senior years, helping them stay on track to graduate with their degree in four years.
The Silver Horn Scholarship Fund was established in 2018 with the inauguration of the College’s 14th president, Dr. Marc M. Camille. Initial efforts raised $260,000 to endow the fund.
"We are grateful to the businesses, individuals, and volunteers who supported and participated in this event. Together we are able to transform lives,” said Carolyn Behan Kraus, vice president of Advancement, who serves as a committee leader of the Silver Horn Scholarship Classic. “The support of the community is most appreciated as today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders and part of our future workforce."
