Residence Options

Our residence halls are a unique mix of traditional “dormitory” style halls, historic mansions that have been renovated for community style living, as well as apartment style halls . Each of our residence halls offers a dynamic living experience and exciting residential community.

Furniture & Amenities

Amenities in each hall include:

  • High-speed wireless internet
  • Cable TV access
  • Laundry machines in each hall—all laundry facilities are free of charge
  • Lounge and study spaces within each hall

Every student is provided with the following furniture:

  • A twin XL bed frame and mattress
  • A dresser
  • An armoire or closet space

In addition to the above list, the following furniture is provided in the apartments:

  • Kitchen table and chairs

Information Technology

All residence hall rooms are equipped with wireless high-speed internet and cable TV access. To connect smart devices to the WiFi (such as Smart TVs, streaming devices, and gaming consoles), students must connect to the Albertus Users network to generate a key for your gaming device/tv register these devices with the network following these directions.

Security

We pride ourselves on the lengths we go to keep our students safe and our halls secure. There are RAs on duty every night to provide assistance and emergency response. All residence hall exterior doors are locked 24/7 and require ID card access to enter (only students living in the building have access). Our Campus Security officers work around the clock and regularly patrol campus, along with assistance from the New Haven Police Department. Additionally, four of our professional Residential Life staff members live in on-campus apartments and serve in an on-call rotation to respond to any issues.

Dominican Hall provides first-year students a living environment where they get to know their fellow classmates in a fun environment. Albertus upperclassmen have the luxury of living in historical mansions. These spacious living areas provide students camaraderie and a welcoming environment.

Dominican Hall

Our most "traditional" residence hall, Dominican, houses 150 students in singles, doubles, triples, and quads on co-ed floors. This hall provides new students with a welcoming community where they can adjust to life at Albertus alongside their peers. There are separate male and female bathrooms on each floor, as well as an all-gender bathroom on the first floor.

Dominican Hall features shared kitchenettes, which contain a sink, microwave, and counter space for food preparation. Additionally, the first two floors also have vending machines with food and drink available for purchase. Every kitchenette also features a filtered hydration station with a drinking fountain and water bottle filler.

A laundry room can be found on the first floor.

McAuliffe Hall at Albertus Magnus College

McAuliffe is one of our historic mansions on campus that houses returning students in singles, doubles, triples, and quads. McAuliffe features a full kitchen on the ground floor, equipped with a sink, microwave, full refrigerator, and stove/oven for student use.

Nilan Hall at Albertus Magnus College

As one of our historic mansions, Nilan houses approximately 30 upper-class students in singles, doubles, triples, and quads. Nilan contains a community lounge, a dedicated study space, and a full kitchen on the ground floor. Students living in Nilan enjoy easy access to its spacious backyard, which provides an excellent space for studying or hanging out with friends outside.

A laundry room can be found on the first floor, adjacent to the kitchen.

Sansbury Hall at Albertus Magnus College

Sansbury Hall is our smallest hall and only single-gender residence hall, housing approximately 20 upper-class women in singles, doubles, triples, and quads.The first floor features a large lounge area, a full kitchen, and a laundry room. Additionally, Sansbury has a large backyard with picnic tables and space for playing outdoor games.

A laundry room can be found on the first floor, across from the kitchen.

Siena, another one of our mansions, houses approximately 30 upper-class students in singles, doubles, and triples on co-ed floors. The building contains ample common space—including two social lounges, a study lounge and an outdoor patio. Siena is equipped with a full kitchen on the first floor, complete with a full-sized refrigerator and stove/oven.

A laundry room can be found on the first floor, adjacent to the kitchen.

Doane Hall and Great Commission Hall are two buildings that make up the 490 apartments. These apartment style residence halls have 2 person and 4 person apartments. In addition to the bedrooms, each apartment has a kitchenette, bathroom as well as a common living space.
