Albertus Magnus College is pleased to announce the election of three new members to its Board of Trustees. This historic leadership addition comes at a monumental time for the College as it prepares to usher in its second century of educational excellence in 2026-27. The newly appointed Board members are Sr. Cathy Arnold, O.P., Elizabeth “Betsy” S. Bowman ’80, and Ena Williams, Ph.D., ’07 MS, ’08 MBA, RN, CENP, FAAN.

Elizabeth “Betsy” S. Bowman ’80

Betsy Bowman previously served on the Albertus Magnus College Board of Trustees from 2008 to 2020 and returns with extensive experience in corporate finance and nonprofit leadership. A proud alumna, she earned her B.A. in Accounting from Albertus and an M.B.A. in Management from the NYU Stern School of Business. Her career includes roles with Ingersoll-Rand, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), and JPMorgan, where she worked in financial auditing and internal consulting, including international assignments in Europe and Venezuela. She later held senior advancement positions at Hunter College, Blythedale Children’s Hospital, and Mystic Seaport Museum, retiring in 2023. Betsy has served on several nonprofit boards, including Dress for Success in Westport and the Stonington Free Library, where she is Board President, and has held leadership roles with the Saugatuck Harbor Yacht Club and the Stonington Harbor Yacht Club. She is also a member of the Operating Working Group for the Sailing Museum/National Sailing Hall of Fame and has served for 11 years on the Race Committee of the New York Yacht Club.

Sr. Cathy Arnold, O.P.

Sr. Cathy Arnold, O.P., is a member of the Leadership Team of the Dominican Sisters of Peace. Her previous ministry includes service as Co-Director of the Collaborative Dominican Novitiate and nine years on the Congregation’s Ministry of Welcome Team for Formation and Vocations. Earlier in her ministry, she served as a high school chemistry and science teacher and as a teacher and program coordinator for persons with developmental disabilities. Sister Cathy has also volunteered with the Racial Justice Committee in Akron and the Leadership for Peace Program at Ohio Dominican University.

Ena Williams, Ph.D., ’07 M.S., ’08 M.B.A., RN, CENP, FAAN

Ena Williams served as Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Executive at Yale New Haven Health (YNHH), where she previously made history as the first African American Chief Nursing Officer at Yale New Haven Hospital. A nationally recognized nursing leader, she has guided teams through major milestones, including Connecticut’s first American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Nurse Residency Practice Transition Accreditation Program® (PTAP) Accreditation and several of YNHH’s Magnet® designations, while advancing clinical excellence across the health system. Dr. Williams currently serves as president of the American Organization of Nursing Leadership board of directors (2026-2027), the Joint Commission Board of Commissioners, and previously the American Nurses Association Foundation. Dr. Williams is an active contributor to numerous professional and community organizations. Widely honored for her leadership, service, and scholarship, she is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and an inaugural Fellow of the Academy of Diversity Leaders in Nursing. Dr. Williams holds degrees from the University Hospital of the West Indies, Western Governors University, Albertus Magnus College, and Walden University.

Founded in 1925, Albertus is a coeducational Catholic College in the Dominican tradition. Albertus’ values- and liberal arts-based education is recognized by external rankings such as US News & World Report, Money, and The New York Times, and has been named a Top 10 Military Friendly School. For ten consecutive years, at least 95% of Albertus graduates have attained employment or gone on to graduate studies within six months of completing their degrees.
