The Mission Office, led by Sr. Ellen Coates, O.P., promotes a culture of Catholic and Dominican values across campus through a variety of programs.

Community Traditions

We celebrate our values of integrity and educational opportunity through a variety of traditions throughout the year. Students’ journey at Albertus Magnus College begins at the Candlelight Ceremony, at which the senior class welcomes new students into our tradition of learning and the search for truth in all its dimensions. At the end of students’ academic careers, members of the college community gather the evening before Commencement to offer praise and thanksgiving to God for the blessings received during their years of study at Albertus Magnus College.

The Pursuit of Truth

We provide occasions for learning about spirituality, Dominican values, and the Catholic intellectual tradition for Albertus students, staff, and faculty, as well as members of the broader community. These include lectures, lunchtime programs that explore Dominican themes, and occasions for preaching and reflection.

Engaging our Heritage

We promote the remarkable history of the College and the various ways in which Albertus has met the needs of different moments in light of the Dominican tradition. For example, each year, we observe Founders’ Day to celebrate our foundation in 1925.
