Employers

The Office of Career Services at Albertus Magnus College offers your organization a cost-effective way to seek prospective candidates for employment within your company. Albertus Magnus College does not charge employers any fees for working with our office. Our personalized approach will help your organization meet its recruiting goals.

The Albertus Advantage

Diverse student body throughout all academic programs.

The College is well above Connecticut state averages for minority enrollments. Minority enrollment represents 38% of our total student body, which is 16% above the Connecticut average of 22%. Your employment needs will be communicated to our diverse group of students.

Focused, hard-working students committed to positive life changes.

The Accelerated Degree Program, Graduate Studies, and New Dimensions programs focus exclusively on meeting the needs of the adult learner who balances multiple family and current work responsibilities. These programs work with large numbers of students who are seeking education as the path to a career change.

A majority of students in the Undergraduate Studies majors work at part-time jobs while studying full-time. In addition, the College's academic internship program provides students with career-related experience that strengthens the transition from the academic to the professional environment.

Recruiting Policy Statement

Albertus Magnus College adheres to applicable federal and state EEOC laws, regulations, standards, and guidelines, and offers employment information without regard to race, color, religion, gender, national origin, sexual orientation, disability, citizenship, or identity as a military veteran unless legally required. Furthermore, the Office of Career Services strives, in good faith, to work only with those employers who subscribe to EEOC guidelines. With regard to professional conduct of job seekers, employers, and career services professionals throughout the recruiting process, the Office of Career Services seeks to abide by the Principles for Professional Conduct set forth by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).

Recruiting Options

  • On-Campus Interviewing allows you to meet with students individually for an information exchange about specific open positions within your organization. These interviews are an ideal method to select those candidates you wish to invite to your organization for further interviewing.
  • Resume Collection provides a method to gather resumes from interested candidates. We collect resumes from interested students and send the collection electronically to you. With this information you are free to invite selected candidates directly to your location. This option represents a significant savings in time, as it requires no travel to our campus.
  • Information Sessions offer an opportunity to you to present an overview about your organization's open positions, recruiting procedures, history and mission, and any other relevant details to the hiring process.
  • Job Postings allow you to communicate specific details about open positions within your organization. We distribute this information electronically through a subscription service exclusively for our students and alumni.

Planning Your Event

The Office of Career Services will handle all planning details related to your event.

  • Publicity will involve electronic and printed materials to be widely distributed among current students, alumni, faculty members, and other members of the College community. The ideal lead time for publicity is three weeks before the date of the event.
  • Pre-Registration is a critical element to your successful Information Session and/or On-Campus Interviewing event. We require interested students and alumni to sign-up in advance of your event. This process allows you to have an accurate count before your event. For On-Campus Interviewing sessions, we will collect resumes prior to the event. Next, we send the resumes to you for your review to determine whether or not a suitable match exists. Once you have selected those candidates of interest, we will arrange the scheduling according to your preferences. The pre-selection process will ensure effective use of your interviewing time on campus.
  • Event Timing is important to be able to reach all interested students and alumni. The ideal time of day for scheduling Information Sessions is 4:30-5:30 p.m. This time slot will allow you to reach and communicate with the maximum number of students. The optimum scheduling for On-Campus Interviewing is determined on an event-by-event basis. The majority of events are scheduled in October, November, February, March, and April.
