The mission of the Campus Ministry Team focuses on prayer and its outgrowth in service to the community. We target the New Haven area specifically and support global projects.
An overview of our service projects in the Fall 2009 Semester:
- We assisted two local schools with school supplies, library books, and stuffed animals. These supplies were garnered through the efforts of Team members and the members of the entire college campus
- At Christmas, we had a Mitten Tree which was located in the dining room and adorned with mittens, gloves, scarves, and hats. These items were donated to a local shelter affiliated with Catholic Charities
Our service projects for the Spring 2010 Semester:
- Haiti Donation Project- canisters were made available around the campus for monetary donations for the needs in Haiti
- Pennies for Peace- (we raised $500 last year) was selected again as a global project
- Let’s Celebrate the Irish!- we will fete the senior citizens of the Clellian Center in Hamden with fun, music and goodies for St. Patrick’s Day
- Breast Cancer Awareness Walkathon-which benefits cancer research. This project is jointly sponsored with the Residential Life Team
- Many other projects are still under discussion
